I’ve been sorting through my receipts lately (tax time) and I had this idea — what if you had a social site where you could post all of your expenditures. Then you can link to your friends or whatever and then compare what they are spending on similar items. Would this reveal anything useful to all parties involved? Have you ever wondered - “gee I wonder how much [person] spends on [product/service] a month compared to me?”
An awesome feature would be like that cd library application where you hold your album up to your webcam and it detects it (Matt whats it called?). If I came home from lunch and just held my receipt up to the webcam and it tracked/sorted that would be sweet. Altho importing bank statements would probably be the default way of doing that.
It’s taboo to talk about how much you make and spend — yet isn’t that an area that with some help you can really get ahead? I think we all need to compare notes on our spending habits. Good idea/Bad idea?

I try to spend around 200 a week on random stuff like going out to eat, movies and beer
