DashboardThemes.com

We just took DashboardThemes.com out of private beta. This site was the idea of my friend Matt Brett. What is DashboardThemes.com? Read our official description here.

I want to thank all of the people who helped test, gather data, and gave us great feedback. I am very proud to say that DT is by far the most polished application I’ve ever launched. It was a great experience working under the direction of Matt. He has an incredible sense of quality and he kept a very close eye on details I normally pass over. I always learn a great deal whenever I work with him.

So lets see how popular this site gets — I think it will be a hit because it solves a pretty big problem with the Xbox360 marketplace. I am interested to see how Microsoft reacts to this and really hope they embrace what we’ve done. If anything they should follow our lead with other content from the marketplace. If they want to sell more they need to improve the system. If anything they should hire Matt as a quality control consultant, he knows exactly what’s missing.

  1. Good job guys, this is something i wanted to do for a while but i dont have a nice enough tv, nor something to capture the themes, nor the money to spend on the themes.

    congrats good work.

  2. Good job guys! I love it.

  3. Thanks for the comments, glad you both like it!

  4. Very nice site … has a few IE6 quirks :( (Don’t ask why I’m using IE6)

I’ve never been a big fan of the 360 themes. They remind me of the days when people would take a giant annoying image and make it the background of their website!
Although, maybe I never got into the themes because I couldnt preview them decently…. ;)

  5. domain doesn’t work for me. “dashboardthemes.com”

p.s. how do i get one of those swanky avatars?

  6. http://en.gravatar.com/ - you can easily get it integrated with your blog via a wordpress module too - or a template if you bought one.

p.s Dashboardthemes.com is gone - I will update this post to explain the fate of that site.

  7. I just realized that this post was originally from January ‘07! I guess you don’t post here all that often…
