Altho I swore I’d never enter another competition I decided to enter an idea for this one. I know I have no chance because I’m not a US resident, but what the hell:) If someone from the US takes my idea and wins, you’d better hook me up! So here goes…
What is your business idea?
A “sample solution” computer retailer that sells multi-media computer solutions for the home. Like how Ikea shows people who have problems decorating their homes what to buy — this store will show the benefits as well as let the user experience the technology before buying it.
Provide unique details, how is your idea different?
My store will have multiple showrooms that demonstrate sample configurations of media centers that can be shown by trained professionals. A customer can then pick and choose what they want for their home and the store would provide installation to the buyers needs.
Why should people care?
Media Center PC’s, Xbox360 Media extenders, TabletPCs, PVR systems, Smartphones/Zunes/PocketPCs, Wireless networks and every other gizmo out there can provide an awesome home/mobile entertainment experience when they are all tied together however at the moment it’s up to the buyer to figure out what pieces they need and configure them. This is one thing keeping people from buying this technology. If it was possible for users to experience all of this technology working together in a comfortable and informative environment they would be more inclined to purchase it
So whoop there it is - Imagine Best buy and Ikea mooshed together. Sure there’d be some kinks to work out but I think it’s a good idea.
